How many challenges can a team make in a Major League Baseball game? In Major League Baseball, each team is allowed 1 Manager Challenge per game during the regular season and 2 during the All-Star game, Playoffs, and any tie-breaker situation. If a Manager's Challenge results in an overturned call, the team retains its ability to challenge.

Major League Baseball made its rule changes for the 2020 season official on Wednesday. There are four categories of rules going into effect: the three-batter minimum for pitchers, roster limits, adjustments to the injured list and option periods for pitchers and two-way players, and a reduction in the time managers have to challenge a play.

Under the experimental head coach challenge rule, a coach is allowed two challenges per conference game regardless of whether the challenge is successful or not. Once a team has exhausted its available head coach challenges, it can no longer challenge any additional play or call in the game.

Each manager starts the game with one challenge. If he uses it and the call is overturned, he gets one more but can never have more than two. If he still has a challenge after the sixth, he must use it if he wants to challenge a call.
